Confused between BH series and state number plate for new car? Here is how to apply in 2026
The Bharat (BH) Series vehicle registration, introduced by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) in 2021, continues to gain popularity among professionals with transferable jobs. This pan-India vehicle registration system eliminates the need for re-registering your vehicle when relocating to another state, thus saving time and avoiding additional taxes or paperwork. For new car buyers in 2026, opting for a BH number plate during purchase is straightforward, especially if you meet the eligibility criteria.

Passenger vehicle retail sales rose to a record 4.37 million units in calendar year 2025, growing 8.2% year-on-year, as tax cuts announced midway through the year triggered a sharp rebound in demand after a muted first half. The outcome exceeded industry expectations that had pegged growth in low single digits, though it remained below the double-digit expansion recorded in 2022 and 2023.

Climate finance is becoming an increasingly important topic, especially as we see more gaps in Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) commitments and rising surface temperatures. Countries outline their climate goals by labelling targets as either unconditional, achievable with their own resources, or conditional, relying on international support for finance, technology, or capacity building. How a country classifies its strategies really shows its financial situation and how capable it is of gathering the resources necessary to reach its climate goals.

Vinfast VF7 India review: Most powerful EV in its class
Vietnamese EV giant Vinfast has officially entered India with two electric crossovers – the Creta Electric-rivalling VF6 and the one you see in images here, the VF7. The VF7 takes on larger electric SUVs like the Tata Harrier EV and the Mahindra XEV 9e, and, as such, comes loaded with features, a potent 353hp AWD powertrain and a starting price tag just north of Rs 20 lakh. We’ve now finally got a chance to sample it on Indian roads to see what it’s like.
Porsche Cayenne and Range Rover Sport: Are they worth the premium pricing?
There’s nothing like a big, chunky luxury SUV to tell the world you’ve arrived. None of that compact, entry-level stuff; that’s for common folk. I’m talking big, hulking 5-seaters with 6-cylinder engines that demand proper money – over a crore at least – to show people you do business, and you mean business. The likes of the Mercedes GLE and BMW X5 come to mind, and turning up in either would be a power move. But what if you want to tell the world you’ve arrived… a little further?
Mahindra Adventure drive to the Himalayas: The Silence of Spiti
There are road trips, and then there are journeys that feel like they belong to another world. The 10-day Spiti Escape with Mahindra Adventure sits firmly in the latter. It began the way most Himalayan stories do, with a quiet sunrise flight into Chandigarh and that unmistakable sensation of stepping into something larger than yourself. Waiting in the parking lot was a grey Mahindra Thar Roxx that would be my transport, shelter, and at times, my only companion through the days ahead. I expected chaos, delays and the usual unpredictability that defines Himalayan travel, but what followed was an expedition so seamlessly organised that it caught me by surprise.
Ducati XDiavel V4 vs Diavel V4: Price and differences explained
The XDiavel V4 is Ducati’s interpretation of a cruiser. While the term ‘cruiser’ instantly brings to mind a typical American motorcycle with an open-chest riding position and forward-set footpegs, Ducati likes to do things differently. It calls the XDiavel a power cruiser — and rightly so. It packs in more power than most cruisers and delivers a far more engaging riding experience, being a cruiser that can also carve corners when you want it to.
TVS Ntorq 150 performance tested and explained
The TVS Ntorq 150 uses a 149.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that puts out 13.2hp at 7,000rpm and a peak torque of 14.2Nm at 5,500rpm (including 0.7Nm from iGO electric boost). The scooter gets two ride modes – Street and Race – each with a different mapping. For our performance runs, we tested the scooter in Race mode, and here are the numbers.
What to expect from the Tata Punch facelift
The Tata Punch received its first update in September 2024, but those changes were restricted to the shuffling of some trim levels and their equipment list. While Tata Motors is yet to officially disclose details, here’s all that we know about the 2026 Tata Punch.

The Mahindra XEV 9S will launch on November 27, 2025, as the first mass-market 3-row SUV in India. Notably, Mahindra has been teasing the XEV 9S for some time now, offering clues about what to expect from the upcoming Mahindra EV. Here’s everything you need to know about the Mahindra XEV 9S:
Mahindra XEV 9S real world range tested, explained
The Mahindra XEV 9S is the brand’s latest EV, and this INGLO platform-based three-row SUV shares its 59kWh and 79kWh battery pack options with the BE 6 and XEV 9e. Mahindra Thar Fest 2025: Sun, sand, and off-road
The Mahindra Thar is one of the most revered nameplates among Indian off-roading enthusiasts, and Mahindra is well cognizant of this. Once every few years, Mahindra holds the Thar Fest, where winning teams from various off-road club events held across the country compete with highly modified Thars in the Club Challenge, the finale to all the off-road competitions conducted by Mahindra that year.
Upcoming Tata launches in India in 2026

The automaker's 2026 line-up also includes a Punch facelift – first spotted in camouflaged guise in March 2024 – expected to arrive early in the year. Here are the details on these upcoming Tata models in 2026.
Renault cars to get pricier from January 1, 2026
Renault India has announced a price hike of up to 2 percent, which will come into effect starting January 1, 2026. The decision comes due to rising input costs and fluctuating currency exchange rates, among various other factors. The price revision will apply to all three models in the French brand’s line-up, which includes the Kwid, Triber and Kiger.
2026 Vinfast VF6 India review: Southeast Asian Surprise
Our brief taste of the Vinfast VF6 on a smooth, straight test track in Vietnam back in June 2025 wasn’t enough to paint a complete picture. Though early impressions were good, many questions remained, and now we get to answer many of them as we review the made-in-India EV on Indian roads.

Mahindra’s flagship EVs, the three-row XEV 9S and the XEV 9e coupe, have a lot in common – from the INGLO born-electric car platform to the battery options and motors on offer. We put the two Mahindra eSUVs through our methodical, exhaustive and accurate range tests to find out which delivers more real world range.

Currently in its third generation, the Range Rover Sport slots just below the flagship Range Rover SUV in the stable. This RR Sport has been on sale since 2022, with local assembly starting only last year. That alone has led to a price drop of up to Rs 24 lakh for some variants, making the luxury off-roader even more desirable. We will now break down three solid reasons to buy the Porsche Cayenne rival – and two that may give you pause.
